Hands Off Gardening !!!! Look what my garden has done all by itself !!
I love this gardening method. My first year as an sfger, and look what my garden has done on its own, without me watering, pruning or any kind of weeding. We have had no rain until last week since mid August here in Southwest Mississippi. The rain we got last week was for a few hrs and mostly just some drippings. My reason for sharing this is to show the beauty of SFG. I have two beds, one with store bought veggie mix, bought at Lowes and Mel's Mix I made up. With just two forms of compost, steer from lowes and horse from the neighbors.
Less work with more production.
Yellow Cherry Tomatoes
Basil Beds where I have the yellow cherry tomatoes as well.
Bell Peppers are in front of the yellow cherry tomatoes
Unknown Heirloom Tomatoes in there and Cayenne
Harvest from our "hands off gardening" Im so excited !!!! This tells you if I get this kind of harvest with hands off, what would I get with some extra food to those tomatoes and some pruning !!! I would have a ton of stuff. Im highly impressed.
I am one happy SFG-er

All that and no watering? That's FANTASTIC!

Very cool! Like passive income!

Hav-v-v, all the work comes when you harvest and have to haul all the treasures to the kitchen! But you know you will savor every bite.
Fantastic looking produce!

Nice harvest Ha-v-v. And it is amazing what plants will do to survive on their own.
Back before I had Tables in my greenhouse---I left a pack of tomatoes sitting on the floor and a tomato plant took root out the pack and into the ground cover and into the hard soil below and it grew and sprawled out a long distance and produced very well considering the factors. It was never fertilized either and was a healthy dark green. (maybe the soil below was fertilized by run off in the greenhouse) It found its own nutrients somewhere in the existing clay.

I am leaving for a week and love to com back and see what happened whenever I leave. It is like teens going crazy when the 'rents are gone.
I pulled out some aphid infested beans which were shading my celery so I am hoping they will now grow more than .5 millimeters a month. But...I will know next week.

What a great harvest. You never know what's going to happen with a SFG.
