Re: Guess how long?
I thought I'd play small ball since everyone was swinging for the fence! But then I started second guessing myself since Josh is having such a great growing season this year.
He's sending me some seeds as promised, and we're going to see who can grow the biggest one next year. After looking at some of the info at the carrot museum, I think Josh may have left some of his carrot in the ground due to his harvesting technique. May the biggest carrot win!

Have you seen this, Josh? http://www.carrotmuseum.co.uk/record.html
The record for the longest carrot is 19 feet 1.196 inches. I wonder if the guy ate it?
Pattipan
Thats a cool site! Lots of cool stuff there to see!
I was a little disappointed in how long it was,it was so big around I was just sure it would be at least 14 inches, but I'm still happy with it.
I haven't eaten it yet,but when I do,I'll let you know how it taste.
Thanks everyone for guessing!
Giant Carrot
I have a great carrot cake recipe. I think that ONE would do the trick. congratulations, Josh!

Re: Guess how long?
Your on Boffer!
Did you see how long that skinny root was on some of those world record size carrots!
Were leaving that long skinny root on Boffer when we measure next year,I may make a really tall high rise for next year! I'll have to remove it from the SFG very gently next time! Can't wait!

Re: Guess how long?
Josh, I'm thinking bigger! I'm going to use Mel's mix in a house rain gutter, supported at an angle, and I'll harvest with a paint brush and toothbrush!
RE: giant carrot
Gotta pull it out, but will do!!
