Looking for some summer planting suggestions
I have a bunch of squares that are now open (some due to harvesting some due to loss). I need some ideas on some heat tolerant plants. I already have like 16 tomatoes planted several summer squash and zucchini, 2 eggplant, sugar snap peas, pole beans, brussel sprouts, cucumbers, lettuces, and a few other things. I have about 9 squares staggered within the brussels so they are well shaded. The other 8 squares don't have any major shade from surrounding plants.

I have several squares open as well. I am leaving them empty for now so they are ready for fall crops to be planted in a few weeks. Hard to believe, but it is almost time to start seeds for the fall.

Re: Looking for some summer planting suggestions
i just started seeds last sunday for more lettuce, pak choi and another oriental green tat soi to replace some of the lettuce that i think is going to bolt soon and will put in some more bush beans also in those empty spots from the broccoli raab etc.
Re: Looking for some summer planting suggestions
how about some nantes petite sweet carrots? those things are tasty and edible from root to tip of greens. . .
we plant a lot of carrots here - they are a popular snack with the kids and even me.
i have best success planting them in gentle rain as they like to be on top of soil not really planted deep and need to stay damp for good germination.
you have a nice garden and it's going to bwe a blast when your harvests start coming in!
