Does anyone sell any of their excess produce at Farmer's Markets? Or are the requirements too cumbersome?

my kids are hoping to sell at our market. It's only .25 for the kids to sell. If I were to sell it would be 10.00.

Very clever workaround and good for the kids.

California is pretty anal about its agriculture. A lot of the Farmer's Markets are pretty regulated. I only just started looking into it, but it looks like more trouble than it is worth at this point. Not sure if a flea market might not be a better bet, but probably too expensive.

I have just started looking at this as well. I have been in touch with the LA County Health Dept out in Culver City - the inspection and requirements don't look to bad.

Once I get a definitive answer I will let you guys know Very Happy

I think every local authority is different, so there's not going to be a single answer.

I know Florida just passed a law allowing local producers to sell their wares...which explains why farmer's markets in Florida are all but non-existent.
