Hello From the Kern River Valley from Kernville, Ca
Hello! I'm a beginner gardener but anxious to learn. I'm retired, 71 years old, and have a lot of time to fish, garden, and take care of the house and yard. I look forward to learning.

Re: Hello From the Kern River Valley from Kernville, Ca
Welcome to the Forum from Fresno, CA. I started SFG gardening at 63 when I retired. I stumbled across the method online, bought a used copy of the 2nd edition, and the rest is history.
The best place to start is by reading the 2nd or 3rd edition of ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening. Local library, used on eBay or on Amazon. Oh, and as an eBook or whatever it is called. Then if you have questions, please ask. Let us know your vision of your garden. Check with your county Master Gardeners or Ag Extension for a vegetable planting guide, especially at your altitude.
