caring for acerola cutting/sprout
I just received in the mail a small acerola cutting. I don't know the proper terminology, but it might be called a sprout or cutting, packed in a small ball of dirt. It needs time to grow roots before planting it in the ground. As my first step, I need to remove the plastic packing around the little ball of dirt and put it in a pot. Should i simply get some kind of organic potting soil, or is there something specifically suitable for this "cutting"? It's a Barbados Cherry, aka Acerola Cherry.

Re: caring for acerola cutting/sprout
Unfortunately, Chris, growing fruit trees is beyond the scope of Square Foot Gardening forum. Suggest you do a google search such as "How to grow Acerola" for answers to your question.
