This thing is 4-5 inches long with the tail thing...
Wasp, hanging around the milkweed and eating the thrips, aphids....
Never seen him before

Ichneumon wasp! I've chased these trying to get a photo.
The long tail thing is an ovipositor, used to get to, and then parasitize, grubs that live inside logs or trees.
