Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Oh my gosh...no problems here worth talking about at all....
Normal cool temps. Had a bit of rain. Neighboring county had a tornado touch down, property damage only.
Watching the path of Irma with a combination of prayers and concern....

Here in Petaluma, north of SF, it is 69*F at 10 pm. My feet are actually cold. Time for socks and tennis up here. Wednesday at the Heirloom Exposition in Santa Rosa it will be 80/61*F.

IT'S POURING!
Also thunder and lightning. Hopefully the rain will help with the fires and the other won't start any new ones.
Fingers crossed for all of you in Irma's path.

3.9 inches of rain last night. Our basement flooded for the 2nd time ever, both within 3 weeks. This new 'normal' is not good.

That is brutal CC. Seems like you cannot escape the bad weather either on the Cape or down in Florida.CapeCoddess wrote:3.9 inches of rain last night. Our basement flooded for the 2nd time ever, both within a week. This new 'normal' is not good.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Coolish but seasonal. 60s day and 40s night. Anput 10 degrees cooler than usual. Gonna get the rain from Irma eventually up here....but we will see....we don't really need any rain. What ever
Love the temps. Hotties shutting down, but that is OK.

I can't believe it! If this forecast comes true, not only will I probably lose my garden, but our beautiful redwoods will be in serious jeopardy. They and the chickens have suffered enough for one year and I can't even imagine what next summer will be like.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Absolutely beautiful September day in Canada's capital. Currently clear blue sky, 76F temp, 42% humidity, 11 mph wind gusting to 18 mph. Perfect in every way.
The next four days are forecast to be sunny with highs in the 79 to 82F range. Overnight lows around 55F. It's all very nice indeed.
I just may have to water the SFG.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
We are getting a bit of the residual from the hurricane....not much. Nice, warm days, cool nights, fall in Ohio.
A lot of my summer stuff is dead/dying...gonna clean out some boxes this weekend. Really strange year. Realized I cannot eat these cherry tomatoes as fast as they ripen!
Lessons learned!

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Finally down out of the triple-digits so I can work outside. Unfortunately, our nights will drop into the 50s later this week, so I'll have to say goodbye to my beautiful cucumbers for this year. Hmm, maybe I'll try again to grow a bush variety inside. I've learned a lot since my last failure. We still have at least 6 weeks of beautiful warm days, so I could bring a container in every night and possibly fool Mother Nature.

Coolish and overcast here. Works for me but the summer veggies are not happy.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Hi guys! We finally got internet back a couple of hours ago... Was without power for just over a day. Thankful for the generator. Was able to run the freezer & fridge.
So, Irma took the shed roof. (NOT the greenhouse, thank goodness!) And we lost the antenna & have a small leak in the roof. Great guy at our insurance company has already cut us a check.
Weather is beautiful now!

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
RAIN at last. Breathable air again. Snow in the mountains is knocking the fires out.
It should clear tomorrow and frost.
I brought in one winter squash of unknown type and hte greenhouse is all closed up.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
It has been quite a summer. We had a wet spring, so lots of grass, and then the rain stopped and it was hot. The fires started on the plains as they dried out first, and worked westward. I have seen bad fire summers but this one is the worst.
We always get excited at the first snow but this year people are crying with relief.
