Planting old potatoes
I have some left over potatoes that are obviously not the greatest now. They are sprouting - some have about 2-3 inches of sprouts. Will it be okay to cut the potatoes and let them cure for about 1 day and then plant them? If so, should I remove the largest sprouts or leave them as is?

Re: Planting old potatoes
I have planted old potatoes with some success. If the sprouts fall off I think there will be enough new sprouts to come to grow on. It is worth a try, nothing to lose.
Re: Planting old potatoes
I was thinking that maybe there are other sprouts that have not appeared yet. Oh well, like you said - nothing to lose. I am going to get a few more seed potatoes just in case these don't work. I am so itching to get out and plant but it is now snowing.
