KansasTraveler, Welcome to the Forum from California! Are you using Mel's Mix in the beds? We are a friendly group so ask any question you may have.
Re: Newbie
Welcome!
And feel free to ask. The forum is full of learners and the learned, and plenty in between. None seem to be particularly cranky. And we've all got plenty of questions to ask each other and stories to share.

Welcome from Ohio! I love the planning almost as much as the eating....almost! Are you using All New Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew? It is a great resource! You will find lots of info on this site, especially in the archives, composting, tips, pest and disease control....

Watch trees if nearby, Mel's Mix if done correctly can't be beat...
If you do not have a compost pile...start one now.
Have a great time, you'll be happy

Hi Kansastravler! Welcome from Atlanta, GA!
Be sure to ask lots of questions. And there's a great archive section on this forum - LOTS of hard won info passed along to the rest of us.
Have you read the All New SFG book yet?

Re: Newbie
My biggest concern is where to put what so they all get along.

Re: Newbie
Folks will help you with that. You just decide what you want to plant. Trellises are good for controlling things that can get really unruly. Pole beans and peas, tomatoes, winter squashes, melons, cucumbers, etc.
