Spring Aldi Sale Begins Today - #1 Jumbo Roses for 5.29
My wife and I just came back from Aldi and we came across some good finds.
Beautiful #1 Jumbo Roses for $5.29 each. Varieties include Peace, Love, Queen Elizabeth, Imperial, John F. Kennedy and Red Gold. I got Queen Elizabeth (always sells out on Jackson Perkins). I also got Love.
Also I got some really good poles for tall plants for 2.99 for 4.
Folks, this is the first day of the sale and there were a relatively few amount of roses.

One just opened down the street from my apartment. I didn't even know it was a grocery store until a few days ago. (thanks facebook) It seemed like you need a membership? or was I reading that wrong? I was planning on going to check it out for the first time tomorrow.

We do not need a membership in our area. It's just a German owned discount grocery store that sells many European products at a very reasonable cost. There are other well priced products.bbroomm wrote:One just opened down the street from my apartment. I didn't even know it was a grocery store until a few days ago. Also have perennials and berries
While looking for the roses, which were up by the registers, I came across a row with bareroot Clematis for 4.99, peonies and dahlias 1.69. There were even sprouting twigs of Japanese maple.

I came across the things you mentioned yesterday. My daughter asked to have her own rose, so yesterday we went back to Aldi to get one that she could call her own (Peace variety). Well, while we were there, we saw all of what you mentioned. I think the price on the clematis might be the most amazing price. Here in my neck of the woods, clematis tends to be very expensive.
PS I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the sale!
PPS Our store also had some lilacs (which were very tempting, but I exercised restraint... the three roses I bought were quite enough).

Aldi's
Three weeks ago, Aldi's in Houston had a sale on their berry bushes - $5.99 each. I bought 4 blackberry bushes and one raspberry bush for my Mom. I need to get these in the ground this weekend as the leaves have grown through the top of the box and have flowers on them already. I've been dancing around the rain in Houston, too.
