Free Praxxus seeds/results of peppers
Way back when, some of us responded to Ray's offer of free seeds. Anybody get pepper results yet?? I finally have a couple of cubanelle plants that are near ready to harvest. But with cool nights I'm guessing they should be picked very soon. The peppers are about 6 inches long and currently mostly greenish yellow with some pink. Never had this variety before. It's suppose to be ripe when red but this morning I read someplace that greenish is preferred by some.
Anyone else have these peppers and how are they doing? Did you like the taste?

Mine never survived the seedling stage. Hope someone can give a taste report.
Re: Free Praxxus seeds/results of peppers
Two of my starts survived being planted too early (when I had to leave to take care of my father after his heart attack). One is in my greenhouse so it should continue to produce over the winter as my bell peppers did last year. The other is out in the garden and is only now producing fruit.
They are quite good. I ate them right off the plant :-) I've had 2 full grown peppers off the greenhouse plant and have 2 more that are currently green. I'll try to remember to take some pictures next time i'm in the garden.

Audrey,
First, hope your Father is feeling better. I've been there with my Dad, talk about a high stress situation.
I haven't eaten the cubanelles raw, but have them in the oven with other veggies so I'll know tonight how I like them. Hope I like it as much as you did.
Sanderson, its a shame yours didn't survive, we have many mysteries in gardening don't we?

I had enough other pepper survivors for planting, but these didn't make it. Next year? Right?
