New to list and new to starting seeds indoors
Hi! I'm located in SE Ohio, about 12 miles east of Athens and probably 12 miles west of Parkersburg, WV. I was wondering when our last frost date was so I get the timing right on starting my seeds indoors. I'm trying to grow/raise most of my food to avoid GMO's and all the horrible stuff in the grocery stores now a days.

For determining your USDA Hardiness Zone, this is a good site as well.

to the SFG forum from Connecticut, libralady9! (My only awareness of Ohio is one Loooong daytrip to pick up my friend who was moving back here from Cleveland--never want to see that many PA plates again! )
I have found the following site to be handy, in case the other ones above don't have specific dates for your intended crop:

If you want to calculate which date it would be in X days, say, to "plant seed inside, 5 to 7 weeks before outdoor transplant", you could go to their next page:
http://www.timeanddate.com/date/calculatoruses.html.
I agree with you about how scary it can be, not knowing what might be in the conventional stuff at the grocery stores. (I must admit, sometimes I 'put my head in the sand' and not think about it all--that is, when I can't put my hands in the Mel's Mix. )
