Produce supermarket sales for canning
Someone mentioned finding a good deal on produce (can't remember what but it was $.69/lb and sold out) in another thread.
If you buy large quantities of produce (say a 1/2 bushel of peaches) from the grocery store, do you call ahead? Or do you go and select/bag it yourself?

It was me, and the peaches were 68¢ per lb. A great deal. I went back 2 days later and bought 10 pounds off the shelf. In the past I have bought boxes of fruit and simply spoke, in person, with the produce manager at the store or the farmer.

Thanks. One of the 'specialty' produce markets sells premium fruit by the case and loose but didn't know how the regular grocery store handle this.
