Swiss chard and radishes for chard salad. Also used one of my frozen jalapenos in Gingered Watermelon Rind Relish I canned this morning.

Spent the morning in the kitchen, making a couple of recipes from How to Cook Everything.
Slow Cooked Green Beans (green beans from the garden)
and
Curried Eggplant and Potatoes (eggplant from the garden)
Right now, for lunch, I'm eating Hot Corn Dip with an anaheim pepper from the garden taking the place of the jalapeno.

I've cleared (and consumed) one square of radish, and this morning harvested my first spinach leaves to go in my salad for lunch. Don't worry...I didn't steal too many. We're still cold up here so things are slow. It's amazing to hear how many things are already ripe for many of you!!

I am going to have a salad from the garden, got some lettuce (mostly buttercrunch, yum) with spinach from the garden, and some champion radishes, I have also been eating cherry belles (and had enough to share) for the last few weeks. Then I am going to make some spinach and artichoke dip!

Just picked our first cucumber today. My 3 year old grandson sat down on the side of the garden and ate the whole thing. He did give me one bit. It was delicious.

Then I was searching for the carrots I planted in March and had to cut a bunch of swiss chard, spinach, kale & cabbage leaves to make room for the sun to hit the carrots. Didn't have my colandar with me so I shoved those leaves in my mouth to get them out of the way. Uncooked chard tastes a little soapy to me.
Also shared 3 strawberries with those little rolly polly bugs.
That was my breakfast today.
We may hit 70 this Friday!

A basket full of orach, pac choi, raab thinnings and a double handful of oyster mushrooms. O, and any onion that had a flower bud i pulled as a green onion.

I pulled 1.5 pounds of breakfast radish (trimmed) and 1/4 pound of snap peas today. My spinach gave me only a bread bagful and has bolted . My tomatoes are SO SLOW.... still only about 6 inches tall darnit!

We had some broccoli rabe sauted up with butter, olive oil, garlic, and onion.
Had another salad (lettuce and spinach and some broccoli).....have gotten about 6 lb of spinach and 4 lb of lettuce so far.......but the end for those are near.

Strawberries , blueberries granola and vanilla yogurt from the berries picked this morning. This afternoon I picked a bowl full of snow peas and added some marinated chicken cubes from the grill and rice. Last night we melted some milk chocolate morsels added a speck of milk and using an oyster fork individually dipped the mornings berry harvest. Heaven

Lunch - lightly sauteed 1/2 unsalted butter 1/2 olive oil, garlic, slices of the first Kohlrabi, first swiss chard, and first beet leaves with a side chunk of parmesan cheese. Wonderful. Someone said you can eat kohlrabi leaves. Raw it was too intense for my liking so I didn't cook it either. The bulb part of kohlrabi, raw, was like a very mild radish. Sauteed it tasted like a mild and sweet broccoli. Overall a wonderful and mostly fresh lunch!
