New to gardening and trying to do a patio one.
Hello I am looking to start a pation garden. I saw this site and I thought it would be perfect. I have a 4'8" by 9'6". I plan to put a trap on the bottom so I don't leak onto my neighbours patio. I'm on the 3rd floor and I was worried about wind to. I have collected seeds and I have to get a few trellis'. I have black tubs that I got from the flowers my store sells and throws them away after. I also got 7 small pink orchid pots 4" or 6" not sure. Im going to lowes for orgainic potting soil and some fertilizer. I want to do it completely orgainic. I have plans to have a farm in 5 years. Any help with all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Angela.

If you need some containers, you can go to grocery stores and ask the deli/bakery if they have any empty pickle/icing buckets. I've already collected about 10 5 gallon pickles buckets and 10 3.5 gallon icing buckets I'm going to turn into self-watering containers. You can grow almost anything in 5 gallon buckets fairly successfully, even indeterminate tomatoes, as long as you stake/trellis them. You can also get containers from restaurants sometimes. And best of all, they're free.

If I were you I would get the All New Square Foot Gardening book by Mel Bartholomew and make some Mel's mix rather than buying organic potting soil! Trust me it's worth it! And Welcome to the forum!
