greens or browns ? wet leaves
What are last falls wet leaves considered
Greens or Browns.
In the present pile I have lots of wet leaves, Have some bags of dry leaves and I am going to empty my present compost pile to rebuild it.
I would like to get the correct mixture of browns and greens in order to get it cooking.

Dead leaves, whether wet or dry, are considered browns.

Jimmy, if I may make a suggestion, corral those leaves (browns) and when you start mowing the grass, place layers of the leaves and a thin layer of green grass clippings in a new compost pile.

I can do that with the one pile I have, it wont be ready for a while.
The other one I am trying to get working soon has many wet leaves all mixed in.
I wont be mowing for at least 6 weeks, but I'll surely take your advice on that.
I've been reading about Berkleys 18 day pile, that's interesting
