At what point do we declair a dud?

At what point do we declair a dud?
First time SFG - one week after planting and we can clearly see "missing" plants. 3 out of 4 lettuce, 7 out of 9 spinach, etc. At what point do we give up and replant the missing ones?

When ever you see signs of trouble, I put in a few more seeds, worst situation is that the original plants survive and thrive, and you have to do some thinnin :scratch:At what point do we give up and replant the missing ones?

Start the replacements off indoors in 2 or 3 inch pots and grow on with lots of TLC till sound , then plant out in the gaps when a week or so over " big enough to plant out " & water them in well .
If you cut just a few lettuce leaves every three or four days that one plant should last till the other are up and producing same goes for the spinach .
