Re: Need Help With Trellis ideas
I have not used them but I read the specifications and some of the good and bad reviews. The are not tall enough unless you buy the extensions. 57 inches tall less 6 to 12 inches in the ground only leaves you about 45 to 51 inches above the ground (depending on how far in the ground you put the legs). Also, they are only 6" wide so they will only support the stem and not the branches. Of course, that may be enough support if you prune. But the end of the branches will still be hanging way out of the cage.

Tomato support
I bought the 2 piece Tomato Towers (not the ladders) from Gardener's Supply. They are 14 1/2" square, and 53" high installed. Right now they are on sale at $24.95 for a set of two. You can find a coupon code for a 10% off your order or free shipping for $75 or more order. They also have something that looks like almost the same thing that is called Tomato Cages. They say you can stack those for greater height. I was trying to figure out how to stack the cages and I guess you could stack by rotating the cage 45 degrees so it rests on the cross pieces of the one below it. Does anyone have experience stacking these?

Re: Need Help With Trellis ideas
I found this really cute idea. Would work for peppers, and peas, and such but not to sure it would stand up to the weight of tomato plants. Unless they were patios.

trellis help needed
Kay, I like your son's PVC feet, but I haven't seen the size of the pipe he used. It looks like 1-1/2 or 2 inch diameter. Can you check this with him? I know you are heading out to Kenya if you are not already there, but you said you would be available on the net. Have a great trip, and accomplish all you plan to.
