BC Gardner
Hi all, Just thought I would check in here and see what is up for 2012. I have started planting my SFG for this year I have peas, lots of onions, red, yellow, and shallots. I have never planted shallots before. spinach, and radishes. I will be planting swiss chard, salad blends, carrots and parsnips and beets soon. What is everyone else doing? I live an hour east of the South Okanagan. It is cooler than usual here this year.

Hi Mary, I'm just across the border from you. I haven't planted a thing yet. Had 4 inches of snow this week and 25 degrees out today. Hoping to start soon. Welcome to SFG

Re: BC Gardner
Hi there
I am just a bit further north from you in Scotch Creek, near Salmon Arm.
I have garlic, rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries and asparagus, all up from last years planting. I have planted peas, spinach and kale in my SFGs and they are all up and I planted spinach and celery and cilantro in my greenhouse and have them transplated about a month ago outside under plastic and they are doing well.
I found that this spring was a bit warmer than last year, but this is only my second year here.

Re: BC Gardner
Hi Nancy, I am a bit east of you in the West Kootenay. We have had a couple of nice days, snow on April 1 and large haii a couple of days ago, and now back to cool rain.
I have a few lettuce that I overwintered, they have not yet taken off but I am sure they will when the ground warms up. Radishes and multiplier onions planted, the garlic and shallots planted in the fall are nowhere to be seen. Snow peas and Swiss Chard seeded. Now building a couple of new 6x3 boxes because 4 deep is too much of stretch for my comfort, and all the wood I have is in 6ft lengths. And I have replasnted my strawberry bed and they look very happy.
I pass through Midway on my way to and from Vancouver so I know where you are.
