anything against leafhoppers, anyone?
I found small, green jumping insects on my broad beans, and I think they must be leafhoppers. Does anyone know how to kill (or repel) them? Would be a shame if they ate all my plants...
Thanks in advance for all your tips

Camprn: they look like this:
They're really tiny, and move like grashoppers, you know, jump and than flutter away.
Choksaw, thanks for the links, these are really helpful. It seems they can be repelled with Neem oil, which here in Holland is used as a skincare product (= expensive ). Don't know if I can get it easily either. For now I'm gonna try a bit of teatree oil, dissolved in water, as I happen to have some in the cupboard. That also repels lice, so maybe it'll do the trick.

I've seen these critters before, I wonder if they eat plants or other insects. Something to investigate later as the weather is lovely aand I'm going out to the garden again.

wow neem oil as a skin care product? thats new although i had never heard of it until i started gardening at first i could only get it at Ace hardware for around $8 for a 16 oz bottle the big box stores didnt have it but i noticed this season that lowes now carries it for about $2 cheaper for the same bottle

Re: anything against leafhoppers, anyone?
@camprn: they suck the juices out of the leaves, so I guess they're not good for my crops
@chocksaw: the stuff costs about 10 euro per 100 ml overhere, not funny
I sprayed my beans with teatree oil, and they fled the scene... hope they stay away.
