OK to put tomatoes in same locale? Empty OK to put tomatoes in same locale?

Post  dzm388 4/2/2010, 11:48 am

Hi, I will be a novice SFGer this year and would appreciate some
advice! Last year my tomatoes in my garden were hit hard by the
blight. I read I should relocate the tomato plants this year due to the
spores from last year's blight. If I make SFG boxes with bottoms and
use Mel's Mix, can I plant tomatoes this year in the same place as last
year? Or do I really need to relocate, and if so, how far
away should I be?

OK to put tomatoes in same locale? Empty tomatoes

The issue is not about location as location, but the soil in which plants grew last year. If you have new soil in the same location you should be fine. Try to buy tomatoes varieties which are resistant to the blight.
