Baked Potatoes in Arizona?
I tried to grow Potatoes in the Phoenix area last year, and the heat got to them and the plants died during the summer heat well before harvest - I guess I had baked potatoes without cooking them . I'm wondering if anybody in this climate/zone has found a way to grow them. I'm specifically looking for a more heat tolerant type/kind as well as any tips on how to grow them.

Baked Potatoes
I don't live in your area, but, think outside the box. Figure out when it gets too hot, and plant early enough so you can harvest before then. The only way mine made it here, was luck and the bed I put them in was in the shade of a big tree all day, but got light, just no direct sun. Jo

Hi Stringer,
I see you're in Gilbert too. Have you found the guy near Lindsey and Pecos who sells compost by the truckfull? He turns it for 9 months before selling - it includes about 4 types of manure plus wood chips, etc.
