Can you eat the kohl rabi leaves?

does anyone know if the leaves of the kohl rabi are edible? they're growing so well!!

yes you can: here's the info! and yes, I'll post it in the other section as well boffer!!

Kohlrabi is a cultivar of the cabbage. Its name means “cabbage turnip” and has a mild flavor reminiscent of these two vegetables. You can peel and slice kohlrabi thinly and put it raw in salad. Or, you can cook it just as you would a beet or turnip, covered in water and simmered until tender. Then, cube it and toss with a little olive oil or butter, salt and pepper and it is ready to eat. The greens, too, are edible. Take the smaller, newer leaves, trim them and cook as you would beet greens, until they are tender. Drain well and serve with some crumbled, fried bacon, a little of the bacon fat and a splash of balsamic vinegar. bounce

better yet can they be juiced in a green juice. i have the same question for brocolli leaves.

Yes you can eat broccoli leaves.. we often do . Snip off some of the bigger leaves to leave a 1/2 inch stub ( but not the leathery biggest ones ) where there is no broccoli head or sprig if it is sprouting broccoli .

Boil water lightly salt and add washed leaves . Put the lid on pan and lightly boil for 6 minutes .

Drain off and add a knob of butter and a shake of ground black pepper then fork the leaves through to mix the butter and pepper serve hot with a meat dish and several other lightly cooked veg.

We allow eight leaves per person .

Sometimes the stalk. stem in the leaf can be a bit tough so gently cut it out with scissors.

I understood the question to be: Can kohlrabi and broccoli leaves be juiced? The way one would juice carrots? I dunno.
