I am in STL and am still getting cherry toms, zucchini and am waiting for bigger toms to ripen on the vine. When it has been a bit chilly at night my dd and I have been covering the plants. Since I've read that theoretically veggies can be harvested up to a hard frost I am hoping to keep them going a while. The only puzzler for me so far is why my broccoli has a bunch of holes in the leaves. Is this from slugs or something else?

I'm in southeast MI. I just pulled my pole beans out this past weekend. My fall mustard, broccoli, and sugar snap peas are doing well at this time. All my summer stuff has come and gone.

It sounds like you have cabbage worms eating yours. I'm finding them, also. They're the offspring of the pretty little white butterflies you may have seen flitting around your garden. Look on the leaves, usually on leaf stems, sometimes on the leaf front or back. The eggs are tiny little yellowish bumps on the underside. Try to clean them off and destroy them. The larva are green, almost the same exact color of your veggies. I pick 'em and squish 'em. Twisted Evil You need to check everyday. You'd be surprised how many you can miss one day, and then find them even larger the next day. Good luck!

I live north of Cincinnati. I am still picking cherry tomatoes, tomatillos, and various types of beans. I have some larger tomatoes on the vine, that like you, I am waiting to turn red. I also have a number of pepper plants at various stages of production. My okra is alive and may give a few more pods. The herbs (basil, oregano, rosemarry, stevia, mint) still have much in which I can harvest. I have a few lettuce plants that are slowly maturing. My brussels sprouts are doing great. I have red cabbage that is thriving. The sweet potatoes are still healthy.

For the most part, the plants are slowing down.
