Re: Hoop House Tutorial
I created a hoop house using cattle panels, we found an old door and built a 2 foot "pony wall"
I was in zone 7 at the time and had a great crop of spinach in the winter, as well as boc choi, and peas.

Re: Hoop House Tutorial
Yes, we found that we could have a firmer hoop house using the cattle panels, now we use them for everything.
When I am able to post, I will show you the "mini" hoops I put inside the hoop house to give the plants two layers of cover.

Re: Hoop House Tutorial
Woohoo!! So do glad this topic is here...I'm trying to convice the DH to help out with 1 or 2 hoop houses. We'll see though, I told him the garden is MY domain and the garage is his...though we help each other out when needed...he just needs to trust me...though he complains about doing things "different". It's not his Grandparents garden... I want a hoop house!
Re: Hoop House Tutorial
the cattle panels come in 16 foot lengths and so all they need is to be bent into the right shape.
I think they cost about 16-20 dollars a panel, they are 16x4, and for the hoop house in my picture we used 2 panels.

Re: Hoop House Tutorial
Good Morning,
My experience with a cold frame is it helps plants to survive the winter and the big payoff happens in the spring. Once you get more sun and warmer temperatures the plants really take off. They are ready to harvest weeks before the just planted spring crops. Hope a different way of looking at things helps somebody. Happy hooping.

I tried that one, but someone said something about being on this forum for a week before you could post pictures, perhaps that is the problem

Re: Hoop House Tutorial
OK I get to the part where I highlight the file, then copy, then do I push "upload", because if I just push copy nothing happens and if I push upload, it all disappears and a new box comes up starting all over again??

In Windows, use Ctrl+C to copy the code in the middle line.
I'm pretty sure you are allowed to post a pic.

On Windows, Press the Control (Ctrl) key for keyboard shortcuts
(such as Ctrl+C to copy).
On a Mac...Press the Command key (the one with the Apple logo on it) for keyboard shortcuts (such as Command-C to copy).
Re: Hoop House Tutorial

Re: Hoop House Tutorial
If you could get them uploaded to one of the image hosting sites (like photobucket), you can easily post them here. In the meantime, here are the two you emailed me.
