aloha from Oahu
Aloha to all the SFG gardeners out there...after our move from the East Coast to the North Shore, my gardening brain seems to have stopped working and needs a reboot. After renting for several years, we are finally moving into our own home in Waialua area. Annndd...now I have room for a garden! I have a small yard that will be great for SFG. I got out the old book, then found you were online! I am excited to get started with my own spot again and have lotsa ideas that I hope will work. But Hawaii is very different from the vegetable gardening I grew up with. Hope to learn lots from your experiences.

Re: aloha from Oahu
I will defer to those who know first hand but think of it as a 12 month summer. From what I gather, spring vegetable will need some shadecloth and a little hope.
Good luck and I hope some Hawaiian members come out of the woodwork to clue you in some more.

Pineapples in sfg
I have about 15 crowns in tiny pots and would like to plant them in the ground. I was dreaming last night how wonderful it would be to have a 4x8 sfg and have an entire plot just for pineapples. I read on-line that you only need to space the pineapple plants 1 foot apart, so sfg would be perfect.
