What is a region for (with map)?
Regional forums were established for members to find other members who live in similar climate zones, in order to discuss local conditions such as weather, pests, and retail sources. Our breakdown of geographical zones is similar to those defined by the National Garden Association. It wouldn't be feasible to define every single climate zone in the U.S. The geographical regions give you a place to begin looking for gardeners in similar climates.
You may fit perfectly into a region. Or, you may live in a border state in one region, but your climate better matches the state next door which is in another region. Participate in both regions, and you'll soon know which one most closely matches your climate.
You don't have to join a region; you can participate in any region you'd like, or not at all. They are there for your convenience.
This map, from the National Gardening Association, may help you get in the ballpark.

Here's hoping you have great weather this summer!
