The title says it all. Sad

Maybe I just outdid myself this year with 8 tomato plants, lots of herbs and other stuff and a newborn baby at home, but I'm just plain exhausted with gardening. It used to be fun but I now find it work, and quite frankly I work enough as it is. Mad

I think if I do it again next year, I will cut back big time. I find it's just not worth the effort anymore, and this is only my 2nd year. I need a beer. Very Happy

Little ones will take it out of you, too. Once they get a little older, you will find more time again. Maybe you pick it up then? However, a couple tomatoes and a few squares of this and that may be low enough maintanence for you to keep somewhat active. Just your basic garden veggies.

I wonder if as the kids grow, THEY won't pull you back into the hobby? I know mine have. They just get so excited to see a seed sprout in a science class that I feel compelled to show them what those plants can really do. My kids will almost undoubtedly grow up SFG'ers someday. But, my youngest is also 6 now.

That sounds like a good plan. My wife wondered why I did it this year with the bambino due but I didn't want to give it up after just 1 year. So I tried it again.

Tomatoes are yellowing (don't plant in containers--toms hate containers). I have an indeterminate tom in 6" of soil that can't stand up and is practically lying on the ground. It's over 6' tall when upright. Frustrating. My strawberries are not producing much and what does produce is eaten by some tiny bugs that I have yet to identify. Maybe I just need some time off. Thanks for the post though. =)

By all means, recharge. However, to avoid a total loss, drive a stake in the ground and get the determinate standing up again. I doubt 6" of MM would ever be firm enough for such a bush without a little friend to lean on.
