I love this raised bed but how would you do the grid?

I think I looked at those before. If I am not mistaken they are $0.44 per foot, not per piece.

Oh no!!! That would be $700 just for the L beds. Of course I would pick something expensive like that. It's a gift I have. Gaaaahhhh! I just called and you are right! My heart just sank. I was so pleased with my discovery. I was going to run over there this afternoon and buy them. I'm glad you told me. That would have been a big surprise at the register, and blushing cheeks as I put them back. I guess my next best easy option is to do the same thing with PVC pipe, but they come in 20-foot lengths and are far less harmonious with my design since they are glaring white. They do have gray ones. Plus the ones sitting on top would roll around on top of the others and not stay in place. My other option is to buy a BOATLOAD of lath and just lay them end to end and kind of stick them into the soil in one direction the way llama mama did with her shims and lay the others on top? Just for one L-shaped bed I'll need about 80 4' lengths of lath. The up side is no worries how I'm going to get them home, or cutting the for my short ends, and the lath will cost me about $100. Since I need to buy them in bulk they will be half price ($.25/piece instead of $.55/piece) :/

My husband says I always oversimplify projects and underestimate the cost.

What about using wire garden pins and then winding twine between them?

You could always just go to the SFG Store and buy a grid already made up...

One of our neighbors has a bamboo forest in her yard. We asked her if we could harvest some, and she said, "Of course!" This happy coincidence has saved us grief over what to use as material for our grid. Not sure if this idea will work, but at this point (after the cost of making the Mel's Mix), we need a break (grin).
