We have gotten over 6" rain this week. I am so over it all. My rain barrel is full, but it is irrelevant, because I just don't need the water.

Most thinks are looking okay, but I keep waiting for warmer temps to help some of the plants take off. Well that and for the local rabbits to stop grazing on them.

We got another 6/10 today. Just as we were drying out to be able to mow!

But at least we are not in the floods in western Iowa! It has to be very maddening to get floods without rain!

I couldn't sleep because the weather 'feels' funny - turned on the computer and saw that we are in a flash flood watch and the radar shows a rowdy thunderstorm heading our way. I don't have much of a problem here in town but lots of my friends farm and many of their fields are under water. Out in the country I have friends that say walking on their lawns is 'squishy' and feels like walking on wet sponges. I wish we could send this down to you guys in Texas that would love to have it!

So sorry, cannot feel for you, at least at this point in time, yes TX needs rain. Louisianna needs it too, the whole state is under a burn ban, and there are rumors of banning fire works on the 4th. Hubby thinks that is unAmerican, but I think that there are many who don't need to be around fire works in the middle of a thunderstorm, let alone under a burn ban...... Just sayin'.

I don't think my back yard has had a chance to dry out in over a month! I have a new bed to put in in that area but I hate to walk on mushy ground! We aren't getting a huge amount of rain at one time (humm unless you call 2" in 12 hours a huge amount!) But it is several days a week of 1/2 to 1 inch that is doing the damage.

Many crops that DID get put in are showing signs of flooding in areas that are not elevated. Some fields are just not going to grow this year!

Yup, I feel for the farmers but also remember that the cost is passed onto the consumer, so we will be paying for it in the end right along side of them.

Rofl...so true Valerie! That is why I love to grow my veggies! Wish I could have a couple of chickens but they are banned in my little podunk town! If you live in our state capitol can have as many as you want but we can't even have one as a pet!

Oh, CindiLou, the laws that are still on the books these days, one town around here it is still illegal to ride your horse naked, and in another, you cannot leave your horse tied up on Main Street after dark. I think it's time we review some old laws.
