More crops maturing in Maine.
I was so happy to go out in the garden today and harvest spinach, broccoli and Chinese cabbage in this basket.
And in the salad spinner I harvested a head-type lettuce and some Simpson's Elite for supper tonite.
The lettuce is darker than the photo. I don't know how I got all that light in the photo.
It feels good to see green growing in my raised beds at last.
The sugar peas are blossoming.
Even tomatoes are starting to form from the blossoms. This is a San Marzano Nano in a pot. I planted my pots earlier than the raised beds knowing I could protect them if we had a freezing nite by bringing them inside. The red yarn is marking the two tomatoes that I will use to save seed since they were in an isolation bag until today.
Its so good to see the first day of summer arrive in Maine after our long, cold, white winter.
