SFG - at a loss, please help
Ok, so the title was misleading but in only one way. I have always row gardened in the past. I spent all my time in the garden with weeds and what not. Now I wander around aimlessly looking for something to do. I hardly have any weeds in my 6 beds and watering is a snap.
WHAT TO DO WITH MY EXTRA TIME!!!! LOL
My toms are really coming on and I have been harvesting lettuce for over a month. My beans, herbs and onions are doing great. My peppers are slow but that is usual for me anyway. I did plant my squash and cukes in traditional mounds but they are thriving (but I do have to weed).
My wife jokes that I can get a part-time job now that I don't spend all my time in the garden! '
Why did I not hear of SFG until last year and not try it until now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great Forum by the way....happy growning.

Howdy Jercarol: Your "Problem" is echoed by almost all new and even seasoned Square Foot Gardeners. We have a lot of squares and weeding does not take long at all. Just sit back and wach the garden grow.
God Bless, Ward and Mary.

Now you have the time to micromanage your garden into oblivion like so many rookies do.....myself included.

Yep, with your old garden you would be out weeding and not posting to this forum!

Jercarol,
My garden is in the front so my neighbors joke about the fact I just sit out there and watch it grow. Every morning after I get off work I water it and sit there listening to the birds, wind chimes, and cicadas. It is so relaxing. That is until the wasps and such start buzzing me. That stills freaks me out a bit and I then flee inside.

LOL LOL LOL thanks for the chuckle.
You know you can grow a square of dandelions, eat the greens & TELL everyone you have to go out to weed your garden.

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

I'm finally watching the Lonesome Dove series, one episode per day, oh and a documentary a day, yesterday's documentary was on Bluegrass music, LOVED IT.
