Re: a bird that's blue
I did a search on Indigo Bunting & it sure looks like it to me.
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Re: a bird that's blue
Definitely an Indigo Bunting!
I found this:
Indigo bunting
Scientific Name: Passerina cyanea
Present in Illinois: late April to mid-October
Illinois Status: Abundant migrant and summer resident; very rare winter resident in south and central parts of state.
Illinois Range: statewide
Illinois Habitat: roadsides and forest edges
Nice picture!!

That's exactly what he is. Send him my way please. I've never seen one in the yard.....yet. And, when you do, tell his friend the Scarlet Tanager to come with him.

Nice photo too, Josh! Do you do photography as well as SFG'ing?
What a gorgeous bird!! I've only seen them at a distance, and definitely never close enough to get a photo.

Re: a bird that's blue
pattypan,
My mom just got a new camera for Mother's Day and she is letting use it too, I have a friend here giving me some photography tips on how to take pictures with it.
middlemamma,
It is a tire! My moms friend made it for her, they cut it to look like a flower, and painted it, and in the middle it has a screen fastened to it and it hangs with a rope.
