Can you check back with the organic farmer and see if anything has shown up on any of his tomatos? Also, he may have some ideas of why they are stressed.

Ok, now my basil plant looks like it has the same thing. They are not even planted close together. All my plants are on raised beds. I think I did Mel's mix right, the only other soil came with the plants and I bought certified organic. I think I am not a good gardener and should just give up. I have spent alot of money already, I am sad.

I hope you don't give up. It's still early yet. What else are you planting besides tomato and basil? I didn't get much of a tomato crop last year, but I'm trying something different and hoping for better this year. If I don't do well this year, then there's always next year.

I wish you good luck with your garden. By the way, do you have pics of your garden?

I have planted carrots, gr. onions, onions, peppers, hot peppers, radishes, spinach, strawberries, garlic, potatoes, parsley, lettus and chives. I haven't taken any pictures, everything is still small.

Well, you've got a lot of backup veggies if your tomatoes don't turn out.

I'm having a tomato issue too. I'm getting the curling dark brown leaves and bumps on the stem of my hanging pear tomato. It's just beginning to flower too, but I've noticed some of them have died before fully opening. The stem looks really nasty though. I'm hoping it'll recover.

I don't know if this is a good enough shot:

Leaf Burn. Mine suffered too this year but they have bounced back. As the plants grow and the leaves wither, just take off the branches.

What about the bumpy stem? Do you think it's a disease, or is it nothing to worry about?
