Hello AlL SFGs, Canadian and Others!
The first entry into the Canadian forum -- my name is Toni Boot. I am a certified instructor based in Summerland, BC (in the beautiful Okanagan Valley). My nursery (Grasslands Nursery) is dedicated to sustainable gardening -- Square Foot Gardening is a perfect fit!

Currently, I'm scheduled for three public classes: Okanagan College in Penticton (March 3), Okanagan College, KLO Campus in Kelowna March 31 and April 24 and the Seniors Wellness Society on March 8. I'm also coordinating the expansion of the Community Garden in Summerland, using the SFG method.

WELCOME to the SFG Forum! I would love to stop by and maybe even buy. But I'm afraid I can't fit it in this afternoon. Certified Instructor in Southern B.C. Icon_wink

Your part of the world must be beautiful. Sometime I hope to visit BC. I must keep eating my fresh fruit and veggies so I live long enough to do everything that's still on my bucket list.

It sounds like you have quite an operation going out there. Your teaching and demo plans are so versitile. They will be reaching many people. I wish you the best and hope we will see some pictures. If you have a website be sure to include your web address in your profile. Keep checking back here. This is a new (updated) site and folks are just getting back on. It will be really busy soon.

Does it snow where you are? If so, are you still digging out? We have LOTS of snow but it is melting now and I can see my boxes -- happy, happy, happy! Starting seeds next week.

Hey Canadiangal! How did you get your instructor certification? I'm looking into getting the correspondence course and I'd like to know your experience with the certification process. I'm readying my video camera so I can show the building, mixing, planting, caring and harvesting; I think that's one of the pre-requisites.
Great to know we have resources up here in the Great White North.

Hi, Canadiangal, we have family and friends in Summerland. I lived in Penticton for 17 years before moving to Midway. You live in a wonderful growing area, I really miss that.
