Very handsome. I have never seen one before, so I guess they are not too common in Oregon.

Neat!
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Yup, Rose breasted grosbeak it is; we have 2-3 pairs nesting and visiting here and there during the year. Pretty birds and all dressed up. They play nice with the other birds.

Re: hada visator taday
There's one I've never seen in my backyard...yet. I am also looking forward to Indigo Buntings. But, both are pretty rare around here.
I was thrilled this year to see a flock of 50+ Cedar Waxwings eating in a tree of mine for a week or so before they continued their migration....I assume.
Great picture.
