forest compost?!

I was wondering about using compost from the woods for part of my 5 ing. mixture. Any thought on this? I'm worried about possible seeds or bugs. I'm surrounded by woods tho. I have some cow manure compost, and I managed to beg a 5 gallon pail of chicken poo and Lord knows what else compost from a friend. (And that was no easy task!) What do you all think? The gardening season has barely started here in northern MN, so I guess there is still hope. I'm just starting out, so I'm only doing 2 4x4 boxes. Do I need to worry about it much with the homegrown pail of compost, or isn't that a large enough percent of the mixture? TIA
