Square Foot Gardening Cookbook
I was wondering how many people have read Mel's cookbook? I purchased it a few months ago when I got the All New SFG book but I didn't start reading it until today. I really suggest reading it, especially those of you who are like me and just starting. He has some companion planting suggestions in it and more helpful tips than just whats in the gardening book... this guy should really have his own TV show.... oh wait ;o)
I just wanted to suggest the book. I'm really enjoying all the additional suggestions for the garden right now. It also has additional tips on harvesting but I'll wait to sing those praises until after I get to harvest!

Square Foot Gardening Cookbook
I have seen this book, and sounds like I must get it. I love cookbooks.
Extra tips would be great. I nearly already forgot about putting basil near tomatoes. I am going to have a separate narrow bed near the house for herbs, but then you can't have too much basil, either.
Happy gardening! And eating!

Re: Square Foot Gardening Cookbook
I swore I would never buy another cookbook, there are enough recipes that you can get free on the Internet.
But after seeing this one, I HAD to have it. It's GREAT. It's more than just a cook book. As you said, there are hints on companion planting, but there's also advice for how to tell when something is ready to harvest, kids sections, etc.

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Re: Square Foot Gardening Cookbook
My DH got me the cookbook last year for Christmas; love it! Lots of good recipes, and I like cookbooks that are arranged by vegetable. I have a couple of others and find that format very useful.
