Compost Tea revisited..
Earlier this year, we started a conversation about compost tea. Well, sort of. The final synopsis was "put compost in bucket, add water, mix it up, strain, and pour "dirty" water in garden....But, darn it, Mr, High and Mighty BBG, why bother with all that work when you have the perfect mix, you big dork?"
I like that approach a lot....it's simple. (And, I am a dork...lol.)
However, how composted does our pile need to be to have beneficial nutrients in there we can use? I was thinking of pouring some in this weekend, to give my babies a turbo charge, and see what comes of things. A couple piles of immature compost strained and poured. Can't hurt, can it??

Re: Compost Tea revisited..
What I do is get an old plastic bucket with a lid, drop in some manure and add weed roots and from time to time another dollop of manure and more weeds. I leave it to brew for a month the first time. I dilute it and eventually chuck the evil smelling sludge in the compost bin and start a new bucket.

I think it all has to be composted for the nutrients to be free & available to be taken up by the water. This would give you the most benefit to the garden plants. If the pile is not quite ready... patience Grasshopper.
