Has anyone used the Snaps?
We are looking for the best way to hold the lath together. How do the snaps work? We are welcome to any other ideas.

what are snaps?
Snaps are what Mel sells with the lath to adhere them together. Instead of, let say, nuts and bolts. Was wondering if anyone has every purchased these from a hardware store, what they are called (if other then snaps) and if they have ever used them?

Re: Has anyone used the Snaps?
No but when I saw them in the amish box video I really liked the looks of them. On my first few boxes I just used string but I might use wood on the some of the others and if I do, I'm going hunting for those snaps.
Looks like screws
I took a look at the lathing picture and the "snaps" look like straight slotted machine screws to me. Maybe use those with nylock nuts to back them up? a more decorative option for thin lathing would be copper brads.

I used pop rivets on mine. It folds up real nice for storage. The longest rivets I've seen available retail are 5/8 inch
Pop rivets and hobbies
I'm scared to get pop rivets as theres a really nice airplane kit I've had my eye on for years that pop rivets together. It would cascade into me parking the cars outside.....bad...just bad.....

Found a two piece plastic rivet that I think is perfect for holding lath together. Thanks

by the look of them id say you could probably pick them up at almost any automotive store (autozone discount auto napa etc.) them seem to be the same pins that are used to hold parts of your cars interior together, Im a mechanic so imused to seeing these types of fastners alot lol just a thought

Good find PFF
Sure beats the aluminum rivets I use that need a tool to install. Now we need to track them down at a Lowes or HD...
