Looking good! I am jealous of how close they are to your patio!

Very nice bennyhannahmama. That should be really convenient as it is so close to your deck. Having your beds close to where you go in and out just gives you more opportunities to admire your garden and keep on top of watering.

Agreed. I see a "row" of dirt in front of the box to your immediate left in the shot? Is that for flowers? That would be so cool.

I purposely picked the placement because of the proximity to the house (I remember Mel's emphasis on that in the book!).

The row outside the box was just there because of the layout of the boxes and I didn't want to leave a little patch of grass there. I had thought of putting down some stones/rock there, but now I may have to consider some flowers. Any suggestions of type/kind of flowers? Very Happy

marigolds are pretty and have insect repelling properties. Nasturtiums are also pretty and have edible flowers. You could also use that for herbs......parsley, thyme, oregano, chives, short dill not the tall variety. Or interplant flowers AND herbs. We use a lot of mint but it is very invasive so I only keep it in a pot.
