I'm a back!
Hey all I was on the fourms last year about this time but around June life got too hectic and I got slide lined. However as I was preparing my SFG for more fun this year I kept thinking about the forums and decided to come back. I'm looking forward to seeing my old friends again, as well as meeting the everyone else! Since the forums were still new when I came and left I thought I'd post here again.
Last year was my first year doing square foot gardening. We started with a 4x4 box that was basically our salad box. It had several kinds of lettuce, carrots, peas, broccoli, leeks and more. We also had a 2x4 box for tomatoes and bell peppers. We had varying success with the different plants.
This year we're doing the 4x4 salad box and another 4x4 box for the tomatoes, peppers and whatever else we can throw in there. The 2x4 box will be for strawberries this year.

Welcome back
Welcome back, Kabaju. We have a daughter in Sandy who started her first SFG box last year, and also started one at her sons' daycare in northern SLC.
We laugh at the fact that she is in the same growing zone there as we are here in southeastern Missouri. We have already planted early spring crops, while she told me this morning they received nine inches of snow overnight.
Sometimes I just don't "get" the growing zones. I think the Sunset zones are more accurate.
I'm looking forward to seeing how your garden grows. Glad you came back.

Re: I'm a back!
Yeah I was preparing the garden to plant some cold weather plants then mother nature had to go and cover the boxes with snow. So I guess I'll be waiting a bit to plant them.
On the other hand I did plant some tomato seeds today! They were just inside.
