Alternative to mel's tomato tray? Empty Alternative to mel's tomato tray?

I was seriously looking at the tomato trays in the SFG store and had an idea Alternative to mel's tomato tray? 615992 What about using foil angel food pans??? I know they are available at most big box stores - not sure of prices, but couldn't you punch a few holes in the bottom, trench them into ground level and fill??? I have used 2 liter soda bottles in the past, and they did ok
