Mini Greenhouses
Living in zone 10....I still like starting a lot of my plants in one.......in fact I just bought another a lil bigger with wheels at Lowes for only $46 plus taxes....it comes with a plastic zippered blanket....
I use a seed starting mat in my kitchen....than move lil upstarts to a 3" pot than outside in the mini greenhouse......temp here have been in the 50's & 60' ....last couple days....with rain....but we need all we can get here near San Diego.....
I keep my seeds in the refrig....and dont need to plant many....and share with friends..
agn on the Mini......its 4 shelves....and I use 2 cookie sheets on each with burlap on top...it keeps the moisture longer.....I bought my #l mini in Utah and raised herbs for my daughters business there while I was visiting in 2010...and had to run back home to the warm wx......as most of you know Lowes has Mels Mix......but no vermiculite....darn......I mix my own sometimes....the last cost me $40.....not happy about that.....

Re: Mini Greenhouses
I'm going to buy one today. It's 4 shelves and has the plastic zippered cover thing and is on super sale for only $20, plus an hour drive each way. I hope it's not a piece de la crappo considering the price.
I'm not planning on putting it outside though. I have a sliding glass door to my patio that should hopefully appreciate a little decoration.

Mine is going to be an old baker's rack with old clear shower curtains rigged up! Even if it is 'a piece de la crappo' it is a step up from that, and for $20? Can't beat it!
