Hello from Northern Virginia!
Hello all
I am a natural-living mother of 3 wonderful kiddos, here in northern Virginia. I am brand new to gardening. It has always been something I wanted to do, but the idea has always scared me off due to the awful soil here, amount of time required etc. So imagine my happiness when I came across the SFG book and method! I'm so excited to begin this year! I'm sure you'll be seeing alot of me, as I have lots of questions already!

Re: Hello from Northern Virginia!
Hi there, Amy, welcome to the forum, to SFG and to gardening too!
I am very likely a neighbor of yours, as I am in northern VA also. Can't wait to hear more about your questions and plans. It is never too late to start gardening! Just remember, it's only seeds. You can do it!

Re: Hello from Northern Virginia!
Welcome! I'm a couple of hours away and have been SFG'ing for two years. I started for the same reasons... I'd been intimidated and thought I had a black thumb, but I was wrong As long as you follow the soil recipe and don't skimp on the five kinds of compost it's pretty hard to get it wrong.
Welcome
Welcome to the forum, Amy. We love newbie gardeners.
Don't worry about making mistakes. We all did, do, and will. It's a never-ending learning process. Just compost your mistakes and turn them into something better as you start over. This is a great place to share and learn.
