Planning... help!!
I'm trying to plan out my beds and I need some help. Do you guys plan yours out on paper? Any chance I could see your plans?

Re: Planning... help!!
Hi, Aub -- I either just sketch mine out by hand with pencil and paper, or sometimes I play around with this:
http://www.vegetable-gardening-online.com/planning-a-garden-layout.html
It doesn't have everything, but it's easy enough to choose something with the same per-square density, then just label it by hand after you print it.

There is a thread here:
https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t4629-new-garden-planning-program-online
There are some other threads as well. Many people use Excel or something similar. I printed out a few grids and worked with pencil (since I did a lot of erasing!) until I got it the way I wanted it, then typed it in. Here it is:
https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B_KybWIO3JQGOTM0MmNiZGEtN2M5Zi00ZTk4LWE1ZWItM2UwMjFjNzg0MTM0&hl=en
Later, when I actually planted, I went back and wrote in the dates I planted each square. I wasn't terribly good at keeping up with this, though. I lasted through about the first 3 rounds of planting. So much for being organized!

planning
I use the kitchen garden planner from Gardener's Supply at http://www.gardeners.com/
It is already made into grids and you can size it any width up to 4 ft. and any length up to 12 ft. I think. You click and drag veggies into the boxes and it tells you how many to plant in each square. You can then print out a report which tells you when to plant, and how deep to place the seeds along with other info.
