Self Wicking Boxes
Go back to the forum screen and scroll up to the Lower South forum and read about boffers self wicking SFG box. These boxes water them selves from the botttom of the box.
I added a web site that tells about Earthtainers that are Rubbermaid containers that you can plant in and have them self water. Go to this web site and scroll to the bottom for the video's about Earthtainers and how to build them. Use this information to build a SFG self watering box. I've included a link to the web site here: EarthTainer. Follow what the video says as the PDF is older.
This is my Earthtainer on a furniture dollie I got from Harbor Freight. I followed Mel's recommendations on how to plant but applied it to the Earthtainer. I have about 3.5 sq. ft. of space. Why the furniture dollie? Have to move the Earthtainer around to the shade as we get really hot weather at the drop of a hat in Corona. Sometime over 120 degrees under the trees.
.
Lots of lettuce and celery. I love the leaves on the ground. More mulch in the making. Gotta love mother nature.
Enjoy the gardens.
