Hello from Ohio
Hello all,
Well I'm in the Northeastern portion of Ohio. I was a landscaper for 15 years and now I work for the family business of expanding Perlite and exfoliating Vermiculite. I've worked in this field now for 2 years. The last 3 mo. of it I have been learning the business end of what we do vs. the production end. Although I can't sell to the general public since I am the manufacturer and our distributors take care of outside sales. If anyone has any questions about what we do I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.
Anyways in doing research I have heard many good things about the Squarefoot Garden concept and plan on making one here this next spring. I hope I can share to your community down the road. Keep up the good work everyone!

Re: Hello from Ohio
Welcome to the forum.
Are you currently a gardener? Experienced or not, you're sure to enjoy the benefits of SFG.
We would sure appreciate it if you listed your distributors/retailers in the Vermiculite Database. You can find the database here.
Your post is the first time I've seen the word 'exfoliate' used with vermiculite. But a google search shows that it is a common term, and that more things are exfoliated than just our skin. Thanks for teaching me my new word of the day!

Re: Hello from Ohio
Thank you sir.
I'll have to discuss with my father what I can and can't tell you or input on distributors. It's kind of a sketchy subject from our end. From what I have been told in the past is we don't like to disclose who we deal with because other manufactures with attempt to steal our customers. Plus we deal with Wholesale/ Distributors and many times we don't actually know who the retailers are unless we ship direct out of our facility. But then that's the private info I am not at liberty to give out per customer request. I hope you understand.
Either way I'll do what I can because I know it's important for this style gardening and really should be for all gardening in general.

Welcome to the site!
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
