New SFGardner from Utah
I retired in 2009 and moved to Layton, Utah (love Utah!). Heard about SFG about a month ago, bought the book, and have been consumed with learning and getting my SFG going.
The home I bought had three concrete garden beds (16.5' x 4', 21.5' x 4', and 21.5' x 3'). I was going to dig them down, but decided since they were almost full to the top of the concrete to just build boxes and place on top. Will add the mix today and start planting.
I have never had a green thumb so I'm hoping the SFG method will change that for me. I realize now that my biggest problem was using existing soil with little improvements added. I have followed Mel's instructions for his mix so I have hope.
I love being in the outdoors, and I love to eat fresh vegetables so I'm excited to have a garden. This forum is great--I have learned so much from everyone--thanks for helping me out with my new adventure.

The Square Foot Gardening program has created more green thumbs out of brown or black thumbs than any other gardening program that I know of. You are going to love your new SFG. Again Welcome and let us know if we can help you. BTW what is your last frost date?
God Bless, Ward.
